Greetings from What is California? HQ, where the book is closed on Season 2, and where it’s time to take a break. I’m stepping away for a few months to recharge, reset, and prepare for Season 3, which I expect to launch later this summer. Watch this space, as they say.
I can’t thank you enough for your listenership and readership since this humble labor of love debuted last September with Gov. Jerry Brown as our inaugural guest. It’s hard to believe we have 28 episodes out in the world and that we’ve so quickly built a strong audience of loyal listeners like you. I don’t take your time or support for granted, and I look forward to returning with another round of guests who’ll help us even further along our quest to understand the Golden State.
The What is California? “Weekend Links” newsletter will continue for the time being, rounding up cool California stories for your consideration. Look for that every Friday morning until mid-June, when it, too, will go on hiatus for roughly a month.
As always, you can send thoughts, comments, questions, suggestions, love notes, hate mail, marriage proposals, and other correspondence I haven’t even thought of yet to hello@whatiscalifornia.com. I’ll be around and would love to hear from you.
Until next time, remember: Keep an eye on the bear! 🐻 ❤️
